New Year Eve 2010 :)

Before i go any further with this post would first like to give hugs and calin to everyone coz it's new year's eve and we are away from both our families so this big teddy bear or nounours to help me give everyone a joyous big hug :)

It's the time of the year where we reflect back to what we have done through out the whole year and what we have achieved and what is not yet realized and what will be brought forward to the next new year. And just like the year before here is my summary of  2010 :)

The 1st thing that i obviously didn't managed to achieve is to post in my blog for 365 days for 2010. I must say it's the most difficult thing to do coz i kept getting distraction after distraction especially when an event happened and photos seems to be piling up and cant process them fast enough to post them. Big events such as going on vacation and getting oneself pregnant certainly took a lot of my time off  blogging so overall i have been a bad blogger indeed :(

Other then that, hmnnn, i cant think of any :)

Now, let's talk about the nice things in 2010 :)

Firstly, my baby sister's marriage in KK in May a wonderful event indeed and then our short vacation and  reunion in KK and KL . Finally our vacation in Europe, our holiday trip to Italy with the newly weds which was a memorable one. Then our Air Balloon ride, and visited 4 chateau which was a superb wedding gift from our family and friends in France when we got married in 2009 and only get to realised it June 2010.

Secondly, managed to make another round of walking down the memory lane when we stayed again in Paris and relived again our memory of July 14th 2008 when we attend again the fireworks display at Champs De Mars at the Eiffel Tower.  Experienced my first Fete de  la Musique in Paris. And finally managed to squeeze some time to visit the Madieval City in Provins, superb indeed :)

Thirdly, which was the most happiest event in our life is when we found out that we are pregnant in September :)  The most wonderful news indeed :)

and finally, our December Vacation in Malaysia and France to celebrate Noel :) and a short vacation with my parents and petit Ferdinand in KL and not forgetting also Numerous Reunions in Lyon and in KK  and KL and Beauvoir Sur Mer and La Baulle just made up a wonderful and memorable December vacation for both of us :)

There you go my summary of 2010. I am sure that 2011 will bring a much more colourful  and beautiful moment for all of us and we certainly are looking forward to the arrival of our Little One in June and that will definitely change and enrich our life for the better :)
here is to all our family and friends wherever you are, have a wonderful slide to the year of the Rabbit 2011!
Bonne Annee a tous!

DAY 47 - Mardi Gras Day!

Yesss its a holiday again :)
According to the locals there would be some carnival going on the streets just like the ones in Brazil, although i was so wanting to go i didnt really have the mood to go out today and so we stayed home and just listen to the rythmn of the drums of people dancing samba on the streets with their elaborate costume and all. There's always next year..i hope :)

Besides, we also woke up late for last night we had some little CNY goin on in the apartment and didnt get to sleep until late and so we decided to be lazy and doze off till it was close to mid day hehehe

We had some light brunch then we watch some television and i was busy making petite madelines for we run out of things to munch during tea time so i was off to the kitchen baking them while peeping through the kitchen window for some glimpse of the festival....but No luck. there were none :(

all i did saw were...

these hard working ladies i found browsing in the street for some sales of their produce :)

And voila! we are all set for our afternoon tea and watch a little bit of Traveling documentaries on Tele for a bit.

Happy Mardi Gras!

DAY 46 - CNY 2010

SInce last year we did a small CNY celebration in Paris so i thought, yeah why not do it in Angola too so we didi :)
Just a siumple spread for the guest to enjoy :) and the theme of the day is anything with red on it and Sebastien and Elo did really well with matching of black and red for the night :)
Ray opt for something that he has been itching to try on since it's from Mapsey Doodle back in KK so here is just the right opportunity for him to wear his chinese costume :)

Sebastien and Elo Claval doing the pose for me :)

Elo and me :)

Mon coeur with his red handkerchief just to stay in tuned with the theme colour of that day oh yes forgot to mentioned also he was wearing his red socks too hahahah :)

After the big meal we decided to head to the back balcony to get us some fresh air and enjoying Luanda by night and accompanied by some dancing musics by our neighbour up on the rooftop.

Our party-boopers neighbour having a wonderful time on the rooftop with some good musics was good entertainment for us no need to put on any musics as theirs were really loud indeed.

The Clavals enjoying the fresh air

was trying to get all four in the picture but was a quite challenging task i might say

And finally, One for the album and Happy chinese New Year to all and hope that the year of the tiger will bring great prosperity to everyone!

DAY 39 - African Night :)

Our friend Elo & Sebastien hosted yet another wonderful party again recently and this time it was African night. Actually we just call it that way because she was inviting her Nigerian friends to come for dinner and she is making one Nigerian dish which is dried fish cooked with some spices and vegetables which was delish.

The night was young and i must say, we had a wonderful time laughing, dancing and some fun with the camera too :)

Elo setting up the dining table which is beautiful with all the candles and wine glasses :)

DAY 34 - Crêpe Day :)

Just as i said i would do yesterday, here are some of the pictures taken from the Crêpe Day that we celebrated last night with our awesome host Sebastien and Elo.

It was indeed a marvelous evening with yummylicous Crêpe and some drinks :)

These are pictures of me and Elo just before we got busy with making them Crêpe :)

Here are the guys in their big napkins hangging over their necks ready for some Crêpe action! :))

Not only do the French eat a lot of crêpes on Chandeleur, but they also do a bit of fortune telling while making them. It is traditional to hold a coin in your writing hand and a crêpe pan in the other, and flip the crêpe into the air. If you manage to catch the crêpe in the pan, your family will be prosperous for the rest of the yea
r
Elo and her perfect flip, i guess i know who is going to be prosperous this year :)

And finally a group photo of very happy and content people :)
Thank You very much to our wonderful and lovely host, Sebastien and Elo for hosting a wonderful La Chandeleur - Crêpe Day!

Looking forward to African and CNY celebration with you guys soon :)

DAY 33 - La Chandeleur = crêpe day in France

FEBRUARY 2 is the Catholic holiday of Candlemas, a feast to commemorate the purification of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of the baby Jesus forty days after his birth.

For many French people La Chandeleur is a chance to enjoy a lot of crêpes, as well as do some fortune telling while making them. If you know how to do both that is IF not just enjoy the crêpe :)

I had this crêpe last year with christine when we visited Angers and decided to have crêpe for dinner this one is what i had i think it was curry chicken with crêpe...yummilicious indeed:)

I remembered 2 years ago we had a ball having crêpe day with our guests From France, Phillipe and my sister Melissa and mal. I remember i was so impressed when Phillipe did crêpe flambées au Grand Marnier.

Well i dig and i dig and finally i found the videos :) Phillipe this one is for you :) here is a 2 year old video of Phillipe and & his assistant Raymond doing the crêpe flambées au Grand Marnier

Phillipe and his burning crêpe flambées

Two well fed girls with a little bit woozy on the head because of the Grand Marnier effect...too much alcohol :))

Well tonight we are heading out to a friend's place to celebrate La Chandeleur with them and hopefully i get some pictures to show tomorrow :)

Until then....

The Week end of Asunción - 21st May 2009

Its Asunción Day and since a couple of the family members are heading this way i decided to make some Brioche and also bread while maman made "Clafootis" for dessert :)

I made two things at one time the bread and the brioche and of course brioche needs a lot more labour then making the bread so anyhow the pictures will show the finished product and tiny bits of the process :) And unlike back in Malaysia, waiting time for the dough to rise is much faster and indoors too but somehow... eventhough its spring here, the wind is still blowing hard and so a bit cool so i had to put them outside for some sunbathing process hehehe :)

cute aren't they hehehe...actually while waiting i managed to play soccer wt my little nephew and niece and we won!!!!!! hehehehe

after raised up to the level i wanted its time to bake it and brush it with some egg yolk + milk and you get that brown crusty look like that :)

nice and smells nice too :) managed to perfumerised the whole house hehehe

thanks to my phone camera can zoom zoom so can take this pic to show slightly the inside which is nothing its just like roti butter kosong very delicious to eat with cafe :) and and and usually the recipe is with pure butter, but hmn...dont want to feel too guilty to eat it later so i used demi-sel which means semi salted.

voila! my very own Brioche from the Vendée Region:)

This is maman's fruit tart or rather they call it "Clafootis" here yummy too made from Cassis berries :)

and here is the bread...

closer look at and can you imagine i used a rice cooker to bake this :)

and finally the two yummies :)

anyways have a great weekend everyone and take care!

À bientôt!
