DAY 75 - PORTOBELLO SALSA SPAGHETTI :)

Today i was very much busy doing some work with my studies and was very much engrossed with my reading and stuffs that i didnt noticed that it was late to start dinner....opps!

Then i look in the fridge and all i have is 4 big Portobello Mushrooms and a new freshly baked bread that i made in the morning...was thinking hard what am i going to do in just a short time....

think! think! think!
so i came up with three combined recipe from three countries :)
PORTOBELLOS FARCIS (French)  SPANISH SALSA (Spain) and finally PASTA PUTTANESCA (Italy)
and also not forgetting, the french bread :)
 The french bread
The stuffed portobello Mushroom with Pasta Puttanesca with the Spanish Salsa Topping!

A Voila!
Did all of this in 45 minutes and hubby was really happy and enjoyed the food and wine and he said how can you make something so simple in looks, and taste like it came out from an expensive restaurant and with that i get plenty appreciation and félicitations kisees  from him that night :)

Oh! by the way....this is a vegetarian  too so its really a healthy food :)

DAY 23 - 1st Dinner Outing in Luanda for 2010

Tonight is our first time going out for dinner in Luanda for 2010. Mon coeur decided to take me to Ilha de Luanda in a place called Playa de Coconut. It was nice outing and just chill out in the open space by the beach while having our dinner and some live band playing in the background.

It was a good 30 minutes journey from Luanda City to go to Ilha de Luanda and since we left early there were no traffic jam, another plus :)

Here is the business card of the Establishment we went to :)

Happy as can be, on our way to have our dinner :)

I just got to take this picture, it's a must!

And this one too :)

And the playa...all the way to Coconut

Wind surfing, reminds me of Beauvoir :)

Our opening drink, Cocktail de Fruitas which was delish!

Sun setting :)

Mon coeur's food was called, "Lombos Cherne com banana and fruitas de marakuja".
Translation in English simply, Fish with banana and passion fruit fusion.

As for me, i was dying to have some prawns so i ordered this dish called "Caril Gambas"
Which translated to English, just means, Curry Prawns with white rice.
Yummylicious indeed, enough to satisfy my Indian tongue :))

And as for dessert we had "Mousse Maracuja" or in English simply Passion Fruit Mousse.

We had vin blanc that night because both of us were having seafood and mon coeur chose an italian vin which is "Terre dei Grifi"

And finally, our picture together to remember this night @ playa de Coconut.

And finally the bill....It sure marks Luanda as the No.1 most expensive country in the world for this kind of dining bill. Ah well...like i say before, beggars can't be choosers i supposed....

Happy weekend and happy week ahead everyone!

Last Weekend wind up!

Basically we had a DIY weekend starting from the friday we already set our target to get our two bathroom some tidy up with some IKEA bathroom cabinets. and so we got one tall one for the guest bathroom and 2 tiny cabinets for our own bathroom.

The saturday started of with me making the tall cabinet on my own and finally it was finished off by mon coeur heheh :))

hard at work with the new IKEA cabinets

This my part, where i use magic hems to put this cabinet curtains together total time spent on this project ermn...maybe 30mins for three cabinet curtains. The magic hem is a must need tool for anyone who doesnt like to sew or just dont know how to do it; so the solution is magic hem all you need is an iron board and iron away :)
I used hooked screws for my curtain wires and it works perfectly.

voila! finished project!

I made some vege & tuna lasagne for lunch as i didnt have much time to prepare anything fancy so made this easy dish from eggplats and some cheese and lots of vegetables. it was delish!

Then we went to TESCO since we never tried groceries shopping there so today we tried two things new groceries place which is TESCO and new pasar malam which was at TTDI aka Pasar Malam Taman Tun since its close by to one another so we went to try it out and the verdict is......

i still prefer BV = Bangsar Village and also the Bangsar Pasar Malam, So mon coeur , no go....as i still prefer to go to bangsar to do all our groceries shopping heheh :)

To end our tiring day we had a wonderful dinner at Dave,s Kafe at 1Utama althought the food was good the wine was oklah and the apple crumble made mon coeur grumble and told the waitress next time use fresh raisins as the raisins felt like they have been kept in a cave and only now been used he said ha!ha!ha! i laughed at his remarks! anyhow the food was ok so that was fine by me ;)anyhow thats our weekend summary for the week see you guys next time ;)

over and ou!

Dinning out @ Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., The curve

I was browsing thru the Malaysian Blogger list the other day and suddenly came acros to one Jackson Kah. He was making a review of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. @ The Curve. So i decided that i will rate the place ourselves so off we go to The Curve and had our Dinner date @ Bubba's.

The Entrance to "The Curve"

Here's Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. :)

Random pictures of us both taken by the ever so friendly waiter and he is from the philipines and it was good fun as they will entertain you with some trivia questions about the the movie "Forest Gump" and he will also sing for you upon request and so it was a jolly good time waiting. We are also served with some cookies which is also nice :)

a few other random shots of us also taken by the waiter;

here are some of the shots taken at the restaurants with the pictures or memorabilia of the movie " Forest Gump" and i especially like the one that says...

IF
MOM
AIN'T HAPPY,
AIN'T NOBODY
HAPPY!

Our food, homemade fries, fish in shrimp sauce and baked salmon in the skillet with asparagus :)

It was a wonderful experience to dine here with good entertaining waiters and food was not too bad either :) It'll be good fun to bring kids to dine in this restaurant as they have plenty of things to feast their eyes on.

chill out guys!
