My grandma..my life!

Ever since I was a little girl my life have always revolved around my grandma. My grandma is pretty much dotted on me and stayed with me everyday at kinder school. I was quite famous during my kinder years for im the only kid who have their grandma sit outside the school and brought food not just for me but to all my mates at school. Even until now...after 33 years of my life, whenever i met my kinder friends such as zulie and Johan,we always talk about how my grandma brought food for us during recess time...hehehe. Those were the days...but grandma passed on 6 years ago and i was gonna write something on the 28th august coz if she were still alive she would be 79 years old on that day, but I couldn't write anything coz i was very much too emotional to write anything until now.

My Inspiration...
my inspiration and love of my life my "mummy nenek"

I'm so glad that i have all the wonderful memories of her in my life to carry with me forever and i can passed on to my kids and grand kids hopefully one day and talk about how i become me and how my grandma plays the biggest role in shaping me to be the woman that i am today.

Well grandma, even though you are not here with me anymore, but the thought of you will always live in my mind and in my heart coz every bit of me is you an di cant thank you enough for giving me life just as it is and taught me to embrace life the way you would have embrace your life if you were given the chance way back then. I sometimes feel like you were trying to live your life in me when you told me to go out into the world and just learn from it because you never had the chance to do it for you have a different life placed upon you. A different kind of life that made you the toughest and courageous woman to be able to raise 12 children and never once forget how important education is. I can talk forever when it comes to my beautiful childhood spent with my grandma in the village where i was born and raised by her with the watchful eyes of my parents. But i am glad i had double parenting guidance coz it made me feel twice loved ...hehehe how lucky can a person be :)

Anyhow, just wanna take the opportunity to express my gratitude and love towards my grandma thats forever will be in my heart and soul for she lives in me and always will be..so mummy nenek "I LOve You" always and peace be with you always..

Eat Yourself Gorgeous

Can you really eat yourself gorgeous? Yes, you can! Everything you put in your body makes a difference -- and not just to your weight. By eating the right foods, you can have glossy hair, clear [up your] skin, reduce cellulite and get healthy nails. Here's our guide to eating beautiful.

Cellulite Shopping List

* Mangoes
* Kiwis
* Cantaloupe melons
* Grapes
* Pineapple
* Lemons
* Brazil nuts
* Almonds
* Sunflower seeds
* Bottled water

Cellulite is one of the hardest things to banish. That familiar orange-peel effect is caused by a buildup of toxins under the skin, which is why taking things out of your diet is as important as adding new things. Caffeine and alcohol are the worst culprits. Kick-start your body, cleansing [your system] with a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon first thing in the morning. Foods rich in antioxidants will help clean from the inside out, as will those high in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. And drink lots of water!

Shiny Hair: Shopping List

* Liver
* Kidney
* Eggs
* Lean red meat
* Bananas
* Dark green fruits
* Dark green vegetables
* Nuts
* Salmon
* Mackerel

Hair needs two essential fatty acids to keep it strong and healthy. These are omega-3 and omega-6. You can find omega-3 in tuna, salmon, mackerel and dark green vegetables like cabbage. Hair thrives on protein and needs a balanced source of iron -- found in liver, kidneys, egg yolks and red meat. A lack of magnesium has also been linked to long-term hair problems. Stock up on bananas, dark green fruits and veggies and nuts for your magnesium fix.

Healthy Skin Shopping List

* Salmon
* Walnuts
* Low-fat dairy products: yogurt, milk, cheese
* Turkey
* Tuna
* Brazil nuts
* Green tea
* Water (hard tap water is best)
* Blackberries
* Blueberries
* Strawberries
* Plums

Because essential fatty acids keep skin cells healthy, it is important to make sure that they are fed these key foods. Cells are responsible for holding in moisture, so the better shape they're in, the plumper your skin will look. Vitamin A is also important, so eat low-fat dairy products, in particular yogurt. Selenium -- found in turkey, tuna and Brazil nuts -- is also great for skin cells. Get some antioxidants -- berries and plums have high levels. These protect skin from damaging free radicals.

Metabolism Booster Shopping List

* Oranges
* Grapefruit
* Apples
* Berries: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries
* Peanuts
* Liver
* Cauliflower

Citrus fruits, soy beans, apples and berries are a good way to get your system moving. The vitamin C found in the citrus fruits has fat-burning qualities and it makes it easier for the body to flush out fats. Pectin, found in apples and berries, limits the amount of fat which cells absorb and soy beans contain lecithin -- a chemical that helps prevent fat being stored in your cells and breaks down fatty deposits. You can also find lecithin in peanuts, liver and cauliflower.

Strong Nails Shopping List

* Chicken
* Fish
* Cheese
* Oranges
* Olive oil
* Eggs
* Crab
* Lean beef

Nails are made from keratin, a form of protein, which means keeping a good level of protein in your diet is important. Find it in chicken, fish and cheese. If nails are brittle, this could be a sign of an iron deficiency -- find it in a wide variety of foods: meat, liver, kidney, fruit, cereals and vegetables. Team foods high in iron with foods containing vitamin C, as it helps the body absorb the iron quicker. Zinc is important, not only for nails, but for bones, too: Eat lean beef, crab and chicken. Strengthen nails with essential fatty acids, and in particular, olive oil.

Healthy Bones Shopping List

* Milk
* Cheese
* Yogurt
* Nuts
* Sunflower seeds
* Pumpkin seeds
* Dark green cabbage

A diet rich in calcium will keep bones strong and healthy. Up your intake of milk, cheese, nuts, seeds, leafy green vegetables and essential fatty acids. Women take note: You are more prone to the bone-weakening disease osteoporosis than men, as you have less bone mass. Combine calcium-rich foods with vitamin D found in cereals, as this helps speed up absorption.

Just wanna be fit , healthy and wise :)

City Mall

My eyes kinda hurt and my heart was hurting too when everywhere i go i seemed to spot something that looks pretty enough to have but actually i dont need it...hmn..its something like going groceries shopping with an empty stomach and you ended up putting too much stuffs on the cart when you don't actually need them but your hunger kinda directed you to all the nescessary things coz its telling you it's hungry so what ever you set your eyes to look at you tend to put it in the cart and somehow everything looks delicious. But when you get home you ended up cooking the most simplest of food coz its easier and fast and coz your stomach is growling and therefore need food FAST! Then after your hunger has been appeased, when you look at the stuffs you bought gosh! what a hurricane! hahaha....usually we wont be able to think rationnally until its too late and this is the case. What Men Notice When They First Meet You

Now girls...let just fasten our eyes on this...and see if we can learn something ...or not..hehehe

From highlights to heels, guys reveal what works--and what doesn't

by Steve Santagati

Let's face it: We all want to look sexy sometimes. And whether you're into a vintage style, or the full-on va-va-voom, we have to wonder, what do guys notice? If you ever wanted to know about men's preferences—like whether your Manolos even register on his Richter scale—here's your definitive guide. In this excerpt from The Manual, you'll find out for sure what men find sexy.

Attention to vanity will seem shallow at times, but in the game of love, it's very important. Most people I see are lazy in this department. And, not surprisingly, these are the same people who complain, saying things such as “People are so superficial,” “I want him to love me for what's inside,” or “I hate the gym.” Well, no one is telling you that you can't dress as you choose. But when you put those constraints on yourself, you're limiting the number of men who will find you attractive. In the end, meeting the right person is a numbers game, and part of getting those numbers rolling is how you dress.

A Woman's Closet, Designed by Men

Lingerie
Lingerie can be inexpensive, but it can't be the kind that comes in a package of three (white, pink, and blue). Nor can it be the “granny” kind with a waist that reaches up to you rib cage and that hangs like a diaper. Lingerie is one garment that you should find as sexy as he does. And it benefits you, too. Women have told me that when they wear nice underwear, even though no one may see it, they will actually walk and talk differently, just knowing they have a little sexy secret. If lingerie can do that to a woman—and we already know how it affects men—then don't you think you should go out and get yourself some? You have tons of choices, and when it comes to lingerie, men like just about anything.

Shoes
Again, we don't care. We know you like them. We don't understand why you like them. All we know is that many of you have closets full of them, and we've figured out that since you spend so much time and money on them, we can compliment them to flatter you. That's about it.

Most likely, if a guy tells you what nice shoes you have, he's either gay or “working on you.” My friend Mari recently told me that a guy came up to her in the airport and complimented her on new shoes. She's so sweet that she thought he meant it. I'm not saying that they're not nice shoes. But have you ever heard a man say, “Well, the thing that caught my eye was Shirley's shoes. I love those pumps, and when I saw them I knew she was the woman for me”? I don't know a single male who would say, “Dude, this chick had the hottest shoes on last night. Damn, I should've gotten her number.” It doesn't happen. Shoe flattery is for one purpose one: flattery. Have I made my point?

There is one style of shoes that men notice, and that's high heels. But heels are more about what a girl looks like in them than about the shoes themselves. Heels make feet and legs look sexy. The classic example is a girl wearing high heels in a bikini. Cheesy, and not particularly functional in the sands of Miami and L.A., but men notice for sure.

Hair
Hair, on the other hand, is, sigh, one of the sexiest things about a woman. Hair grabs us and doesn't let us go. Think octopus tentacles. Your style, color and texture are no matter. Your hair only needs to have a clean, tousled, just-out-of-bed look. My opinion is that most women look sexier with longer hair than shorter. Men like long, sexy hair largely because we don't have it. Plus, very few women can get away with that short boyish look. Next time you're out in public, watch how men look at women with long hair versus short.

On a related note, hair salons suck. I can't believe what they've done to some of your mops. They're not just ruining your hair; they're wrecking your love life. With the Internet and a gazillion fashion magazines at your fingertips, you've got plenty of references. Please think sexy and spend the time and money to get the right do. When in doubt, turn to whichever celebrity women are getting the most attention for being sexy, and copy them. Messy sexy is what you should be after: think Sheryl Crow, Jessica Alba, Jane Seymour and Reese Witherspoon.

A few more tips: Don't color your hair based on the swatches you picked up at the paint store. Other styles to avoid include bad bangs, mullets and that “business in the front/party in the back” look. And stop cutting your hair short as you age—there's no need to.

Dresses
Every woman wears a dress differently. The only hard-and-fast rule is to pick a dress that accentuates your best body parts. Whether you have a gorgeous back, incredible thighs, or lovely collarbones, stock up on designs that not only fit but also highlight those attributes.

Your shape and height determine much of what you'll look good in, but here are some general rules of thumb:

Shorter Girls
Wear heels. Heels create the illusion of longer legs. And as I've said, they're sexy!
Buy a dress that vaguely clings, while still allowing your bum to move freely. Check out the red carpet “best dressed” lists for examples.
Loose cotton dresses are best if you have some pounds to shed. They give us a hint of your bum and legs without a solid picture. We have vivid imaginations and we fantasize you better-looking, not worse. (We're on your side here. Just give us something to work with!)

Taller Girls
Stand up straight, shoulders back, chest high.
Wear longer dresses that hug your legs a bit. You want a fitted design.
Pick either heels of flats, depending on how tall you want to appear.
Make sure that at least 60 percent of your skin is covered by the dress. You have a lot of skin, and a little goes a long way.
As with shorter girls, loose-fitting, sheer cotton dresses that cling a little are great for those of you carrying a bit of extra weight.

Tops and Bottoms
This is fairly straightforward: You need to have tops and bottoms in your closet that you have no doubt are “man killers.” Call it your “good luck resisting me” section. This is the part of the closet that houses the cleavage cuts, the tighty tops, and the bootylicious jeans. Feel free to mix and match from the more “domestic” side of your closet, but never forget: it's a jungle out there, and sometimes it pays to get a little wild if you want to survive.

Glasses
Glasses are hot! Hands down. Just make sure you pick a great style that flatters your face and keep the lenses free of eyelashes and finger prints. I love chicks in glasses.

Mammograms

This information can be found by going to http://cancer.health.ivillage.com/

(Mammography, Digital Mammograms, Screening Mammography, Diagnostic Mammography)

Summary

A mammogram, or mammography, is a specialized x-ray procedure used to create detailedBreast cancer begins in the tissues, cells and ducts of the female or male breast. images of the breast. It is used to detect changes in the breast tissue, such as thickened tissue lumps or calcification that may indicate the presence of breast cancer, and finding them early can significantly increase a patient’s odds of survival. Mammography can detect some abnormalities between one and three years before they can be felt.

Mammograms can be ordered by a physician to detect a variety of breast disorders, ranging from cysts (fluid-filled sacs) to cancer. Mammograms may be ordered to:

*
Screen for a condition. Used when women have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer or other breast abnormalities.

*
Diagnose a condition. Used to check for cancer based on signs, symptoms or other test results.

A mammogram is conducted with the use of a special imaging machine on an outpatient basis. The test is administered by a radiation technologist, usually someone who has been specially trained for mammograms. The mammogram images are stored on films that are reviewed by a physician (physician mammographer) and often additional cancer specialists, for any signs of abnormalities.

Mammograms are currently the most effective way to screen for early breast cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older have a mammogram every year, while the National Cancer Institute recommends mammograms every one to two years for this age group.
About mammograms

A mammogram is a special x-ray of the breasts used to diagnose abnormalities, including breast cancer. It is the single most effective way to detect cancer in its early stages, when it is most treatable. Mammography can find abnormalities between one and three years before they can be felt. When breast cancer is detected before it has spread to the lymph nodes, patients have a five-year survival rate of 98 percent, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). Only one or two mammograms out of every 1,000 leads to a diagnosis of cancer.

Mammograms detect cancer by revealing tissues that are denser than those in the normal tissues of the breast. They can detect lesions as small as 0.5 centimeters (0.2 inches). Most lumps cannot be felt until they are at least 1 centimeter (0.4 inches).

Mammograms can detect calcium deposits in the breast. Appearing as small, white dots on film, these can be the result of cell secretions, cell debris, inflammation, trauma, previous radiation or foreign bodies. Calcium deposits that are tiny and irregularly shaped (microcalcifications) are often associated with cancer. They may appear alone or in clusters. When found, they may prompt a follow-up mammogram or a biopsy. Microcalcifications are the most common sign on a mammogram of ductal carcinoma in situ (early noninvasive cancer confined to the breast ducts).

Larger, coarser deposits (macrocalcification) are sometimes the result of a benign (noncancerous) condition called fibroadenoma. This is a common tumor of the female breast. Aging of the breast arteries, old injuries and inflammation are also common causes of macrocalcification. Macrocalcifications are not cancerous and are found in half of women over age 50 and in one in 10 women under 50, according to the ACS.

Masses or lumps can occur with or without calcifications. While they are sometimes cancerous, they are often cysts (a non-cancerous collection of fluid) or benign tumors, such as fibroadenomas. If a cyst is suspected, it will need to be confirmed with either a fine needle aspiration or a breast ultrasound. Suspected cancerous masses will likely require a biopsy for confirmation. As with calcifications, masses can be caused by benign breast conditions or by breast cancer. The size, shape and edges (margins) of the mass help the physician determine whether or not it is cancer. The physician will also look for:

*
Dense areas that appear in only one breast

*
Dense areas or microcalcifications that were not seen in the patient’s last mammogram

*
Distorted areas (which may suggest tumors that have invaded nearby tissues)

Sometimes, dense areas in mammograms indicate tissue packed with glands that make calcifications and masses harder to detect. On the other hand, dense areas may also indicate cancer itself.

If suspicious areas are found, a physician may order an ultrasound or needle aspiration to help determine whether the mass is solid (such as in a tumor) or is a fluid-filled cyst. If nipple discharge is present, a physician may order an x-ray exam called galactography, a procedure in which a fine plastic tube is placed into the opening of the nipple’s duct and a contrast material is injected into the duct.

Patients may obtain mammograms from many different facilities, including hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices and x-ray or imaging centers. Mobile units also provide mammograms during screening events at shopping malls, community centers and offices. A federal law called the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulates mammography. Under MQSA, all mammography personnel and facilities, including mobile units, in the United States must be accredited and be certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, these facilities must pass annual inspections and display their FDA certificate in a location visible to patients.

The ACS recommends that women age 40 and older have a mammogram every year, while the National Cancer Institute (NCI) recommends mammograms every one to two years for this age group.

Although mammograms are the most effective way to screen for breast cancer, studies have shown that many women fail to get them regularly. Common reasons provided by women included fear, embarrassment and most often, cost. Mammogram costs vary according to a patient's insurance coverage. Medicaid and private insurance typically cover the full cost of an annual screening mammogram on women over 40. Medicare, however, only covers 80 percent of the cost, forcing women to pay the remaining 20 percent. Many states offer mammograms at low or no cost to women who qualify based on income.

Women at higher risk of breast cancer should consult their physician about when to begin scheduling mammograms, and how often to have the procedure. Risk factors that may increase the scheduling of mammograms include:

*
Personal history of breast cancer

*
Breast cancer in mother or sister

*
Family history or personal history of gene abnormalities associated with cancer (e.g., BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes)

*
No pregnancies or first pregnancy after age 35

*
Early onset of menstruation

*
Late menopause

*
History of atypical findings or prior breast biopsies

Treatment with radiation therapy to the chest or neck before age 30

Mammograms are most effective when used to examine the breasts of women over age 40. As a woman ages, breast tissue increasingly is replaced with fat. By the time a woman reaches menopause, there are usually just a few strands of breast tissue left. Fat appears gray on mammograms, making it easy to see the white spots that indicate abnormalities. In contrast, the breasts of younger women are usually too dense to provide good mammogram images.

In many cases, an ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a good substitute for women in the MRI is an imaging test used in cancer diagnosis, to guide treatment and to monitor for relapse.older age group. MRI in conjunction with a mammogram also may be recommended for women who are at high risk for the disease. The ACS recommends women in their 20s and 30s have a clinical breast exam by a health professional every three years, preferably at the time of their mammogram.
Limitations of mammograms

Mammography tests are not perfect. Only the part of the breast that extends from the body can be imaged. This makes it easier to get an accurate picture of a large breast than a smaller breast. In addition, the periphery of the breast does not appear on the image at all. It also may be difficult to detect abnormalities that exist in the breast tissue adjacent to the chest wall.

Breast cancers are most likely to develop in dense tissue, where they are most difficult to detect. Mammograms can result in false negative readings (particularly in younger women, who have dense breast tissue) or false positive readings. In a false negative reading, dense breast tissue may obscure a tumor and the mammogram may fail to detect its presence. In a false positive, the mammogram appears abnormal when, in fact, no cancer is present.

Other factors that can significantly impact the accuracy of the test include:

*
Quality of film used

*
Experience and skill of the technician and radiologist. The appearance of breast tissue on a mammogram varies significantly from woman to woman. A skilled technician may be able to obtain more accurate films. The skill and experience of the radiologist can make a difference in how accurately the mammogram is analyzed.

*
Breast density. Breast tissue becomes fattier and has fewer glands as women age, which results in mammograms that are easier to interpret. Breast tissue that is denser, as in younger women, makes it more difficult to detect abnormalities.

In addition, mammography does not detect all cancers. In some cases, such as the armpit or chest wall, the area of the body is not easily viewable. However, a lump may be felt in a breast exam. In other cases, the cancer may be too small to be revealed by this test. Up to 20 percent of breast cancers are missed by mammograms, according to the National Cancer Institute. For this reason, mammograms and physical exams are considered to be complementary techniques.

Mammograms of women with breast implants can be very difficult to interpret. The x-rays used in mammography do not easily penetrate silicone or saline implants, making it harder to image overlying and underlying breast tissue.

Women with implants are likely to have four additional images taken. Known as implant displacement (ID) views, they involve pushing the implant against the chest wall while the breast is pulled over it. This provides better imaging of the front part of the breast. This technique is not as effective in women who have experienced the formation of scar tissue around the implants. ID images are most successful in women whose implants are placed underneath the chest muscle.

Women who have had breast-conserving surgery, or lumpectomy, will need to continue to schedule regular mammograms, while women who have had their breast removed will no longer need mammograms of that area. Patients should consult with their physician about how breast cancer surgery might impact their need for future mammograms.
Types and differences of mammograms

Physicians order mammograms to detect or diagnose breast abnormalities ranging from cysts to cancer. Mammograms may be performed for different purposes and include:

*
Screening mammogram. Used when women have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer. The goal is to detect cancers in the earliest state. A screening mammogram typically requires two x-rays of each breast.

o
Cranial-caudal. Examines the breasts from above.

o
Mediolateral-oblique. Examines the breasts from an angle that includes breast tissue extending to the armpit.

The initial mammogram is often called the baseline mammogram. Radiologists use this image as a baseline against which they will compare future mammograms.

*
Diagnostic mammogram. Used to check for cancer due to symptoms or other test results, including screening mammograms. Diagnostic mammograms may include more images and may concentrate on specific areas of the breast. Changes in the breast that may indicate the need for a mammogram include:

o
Lumps
o
Pain
o
Nipple thickening, retraction or discharge
o
Change in breast size or shape, or change in overlying skin

*
After a woman has been diagnosed with breast cancer, she will continue to receive regular diagnostic mammograms.

Diagnostic mammograms are also used to evaluate the breasts of women with implants, which sometimes can obscure the presence of the disease.

Before the mammogram test

In preparing for a mammogram, women can gather information that may be valuable to the physician. Information to report includes:

*
Problems with breasts
*
Past breast biopsies or surgeries
*
Whether the patient has implants
*
Whether the patient is pregnant or nursing
*
Whether the patient is using hormone replacement therapy or taking hormones or treatment for any breast disorders
*
Timing of menstrual cycle
*
Whether the patient has started menopause

Patients who schedule an exam at a new facility should be sure to bring prior mammograms and accompanying reports with them. It is important to bring the original mammogram films, rather than copies. Federal law requires that all mammography facilities give patients their original mammograms when needed.

During a mammogram, a woman’s breasts will be compressed. Patients should not schedule these exams when breasts are likely to be tender, such as the week before or week of a menstrual period. The week after a menstrual period is often the time when a woman’s breasts are least tender.

On the day of the test, women should not apply any of the following under their arms or to their breasts:

*
Deodorants and antiperspirants
*
Powders
*
Lotions
*
Creams
*
Perfumes

Some of these cosmetics can cause densities on mammograms, leading to confusion during the reading of the mammogram.

Women with a history of breast pain (mastalgia) or tenderness should consider taking an over-the-counter pain medication about one hour prior to a mammogram.
During the mammogram test

The patient will be given a gown and asked to remove clothing from the waist up. She will also be asked to remove neck jewelry. Some mammography facilities are now using skin markers to help identify certain normal features of the breast, including the nipple and any surgical scars, raised moles and other natural details. The markers are placed on the patient’s skin and can be easily identified when the physician mammographer later reads the mammogram. In some cases, markers may also be used to identify suspicious lumps and other abnormalities. These markers aid physicians in reading the mammograms.

During the test, the patient stands in front of an x-ray machine designed for mammography. A technician positions a breast on a platform that holds the x-ray film and raises or lowers the platform depending on the patient’s height. The patient’s head, arms and torso will be adjusted to allow an unobstructed view of the breast. It may take the technician several attempts before the correct position is achieved for the image.

A clear, plastic plate then gradually presses the breast against the platform. This helps spread out and separate the breast tissue so x-rays can penetrate it more accurately. The pressure also helps hold the breast still, decreasing any potentially blurring of the image. Although this pressure lasts only for a few seconds and is not harmful, some women may experience discomfort or pain. This should be reported to the technician, although in many cases it cannot be avoided as the positioning or pressure is necessary to obtain an accurate image.

Patients are asked to stand still and hold their breath as images are taken. Usually, images will be taken of both breasts. During a diagnostic mammogram, the technician takes images from various angles and may increase the magnification of images or focus on areas of concern.

After a set of images have been taken, women are often asked to wait to get dressed until the radiologist has viewed the films. If the films are not adequate or an area of concern is noted, additional images may need to be taken at that time.

A mammography procedure usually takes about 30 minutes.

Pap Smear

Ok..here are some of the women health issues thats quite dear to me so i hope to put up as much information as possible regarding this matter as i want to know as well as want to share what i learn But usually we just don't have the time to read but whatever our excuses are in life information is all out there we just need to grab it. Read on people! ;)

What could they mean?

(HealthDay News) -- Most women should get their first Pap smear -- a test to detect cervical cancer -- once they become sexually active or reach age 18, the American Academy of Family Physicians says.

The test is recommended once a year until a woman has had at least three negative ones. After this, a woman should have a Pap smear at least every three years, unless her doctor thinks the test is needed more often, the academy says.

What could a positive result mean? The academy lists these possibilities:

  • Inflammation of the cervix, attributable to factors including a yeast infection, HPV, herpes virus or other infection.
  • Very early signs of cancer of the cervix, a condition called dysplasia.
  • Moderately advanced cervical cancer.
  • Very advanced stages of cancer.

I'm trying to lose weight......konon lah..

Ok i wanna look like this (konon! according to cheeky egg hahaha) ----->

so i guess i need to eat lots of time in small portions ..i remember ms danne telling me about this and do i listen No :( Now....need to reformat and do it right back again and hopefully this time i get what i want from what i set myself to do! So its payback time!

Grazing and Weight Loss

The Problem
"I'm trying to lose weight. I was told to try small meals every couple of hours, but I feel like I'm constantly eating and overeating. What should I do? How does this affect my weight loss?"
--kzadora

The Solutions

1. Grazing works
"This way of eating enables you to change your metabolism. Eating small meals keeps your blood sugar level from making large up-and-down fluctuations; believe it or not, it is much better for you."
--sandy

2. If you can't graze, just snack
"You don't need to be eating small balanced meals every two hours. The trick is to break up the nutrition you need in a day to have as snacks in between meals. Don't skip a meal to save calories -- that has the opposite effect. Your body will hold onto fat calories (survival mode) and burn muscle because that is the most readily available energy source. This will in turn lower your metabolism, making it that much harder to lose weight."
--amanda

3. Listen to your body
"Eating several small meals a day means eating when your body, not your mind, is hungry. When people wait for the standard meal times (breakfast, lunch, dinner), often we are so hungry we overeat. If you eat when your body tells you you're hungry, you will eat more frequently but fewer total calories and feel more satiated."
--iVillager

4. Eat breakfast
"You need to make a commitment to yourself to eat breakfast before you leave the house. This is very important to jump-start your metabolism. The longer you put off breakfast, the longer you put off burning more calories because your metabolism is still extremely low from sleeping eight hours."
--amanda

5. Make good food choices
"I always put fruits and veggies at the top of my list of food to eat first and foods made with flour or starch at the bottom. Eat all your servings of fruits and veggies first, then treat yourself to pretzels, a tortilla or rice."
--sandra

"Stick to WHOLE foods -- that means keep the processed, chemical-laden, sugar- and salt-saturated foods to a minimum. Fresh LIVE foods digest more easily, are nutrient- and enzyme-packed and provide a good amount of water."
--cindy

6. Drink water
"It is also imperative that you have at least eight eight-ounce glasses of water every day. This is the amount of water your body loses in a typical day - not including the extra water you will lose due to exercise. You have to make a conscious effort in the beginning to get all your water in, but it will become second nature in just a little bit of time.
--amanda

7. Be a conscious eater
"Keep a diary of the things you eat until you become accustomed to portion control."
--sandy

8. Savor your meals
"Try making up a nice plate and eating only what you have chosen for that meal. Never go back and put more food on your plate. Make each meal small (about 300 calories) and sit down someplace that is peaceful and enjoy each bite."
--sandra

9. Don't forget exercise and activity
"If you really want to speed up your weight loss, incorporate exercise. Exercise could be anything that your body is not already used to doing; any bit of activity you add into your lifestyle will have positive side effects. Just keep at it and don't give up.
--amanda

"If your workplace has stairs, use them rather than the elevator. Take the long way around the stores when you shop. Park way out in the parking lot so you can walk."

Hungry Girl: Fat-Burning Food

Hungry Girl's Fat-Burning Food Guide:
Can foods help burn fat? Some experts insist they can. Here is Hungry Girl's list of diet-friendly foods that are rumored to fight flab!

Grapefruit
I'm not sure if it has magical fat-burning properties, but research suggests that this sweet 'n' sour citrus fruit can aid in weight loss. One Scripps Clinic study found that eating half of a grapefruit or drinking four ounces of grapefruit juice with meals (without making any other changes in eating habits) resulted in an average weight loss of more than three pounds in 12 weeks. Scientists speculate the weight loss happens because grapefruit lowers insulin levels, which curbs your urge to snack. And, of course, the less you snack, the easier it is to lose weight.

HG Tip: If grapefruit is a little too tart for you, try sprinkling some Splenda on top.

Green Tea
Green tea is one ambitious beverage. Not only does it help prevent cancer and heart disease, but numerous research studies have also found that drinking green tea, or taking green tea supplements, can also rev up your metabolism. Just how big of a difference can this fat-burning brew make? Some researchers claim if you drink five cups of green tea a day, you'll burn 70 to 80 extra calories. That's not bad, and definitely worth a shot!

Spicy Foods
Like it hot? Good news: Eating spicy foods can help you burn more fat. Hot foods make you sweat and raise your heart rate, which temporarily increases your metabolism. So grab some cayenne, your favorite bottle of hot sauce, hot chilies or red pepper flakes, and give your food ‑- and your metabolism ‑- a kick. My personal fave hot sauce is Frank's Red Hot Extra Hot.

Low-Fat/Nonfat Dairy
In addition to building strong bones, calcium also inhibits the production of calcitriol, a hormone that tells cells to generate more fat. Woohoo! Several studies have concluded that incorporating low-fat or nonfat dairy products into your diet can help you lose more weight. My favorite forms of low-fat dairy are Dannon Light 'n' Fit Smoothies, Yoplait Light Yogurt and Dreyer's Grand Light Ice Cream.

Water
Skimp on water, and it'll be harder to lose weight. Dehydration slows down your metabolism, and it can also lead to sugar cravings and fatigue (which might make you less likely to exercise). Yikes! Some experts recommend guzzling eight cups of H2O a day. I have at least 10 to 12 glasses daily.

Cinnamon
Research shows that a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, eaten with food, helps metabolize sugars more effectively and lower the body's blood sugar levels. This is helpful because high blood sugar levels and excess sugar in the blood can lead to fat storage. Cinnamon also brings out natural sweetness in food and, well, tastes good. So sprinkle away! My favorite way to use the stuff? Mixed with Splenda and some fat-free cottage cheese or on baked apples. Mmm!

HG Protein Tip!
Protein is essential for building muscle. And the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn ‑- even when you're at rest. Protein also has the highest thermic effect of all the macronutrients (protein, carbs and fat). So, you burn more calories digesting protein than you do digesting carbs or fats. Your best protein-packed bets are turkey, egg whites, fish, tuna and skinless, boneless chicken breasts.

Could I Be Eating Too Little?

Hmn....i do like the sound of this article asking me to eat more to lose weight.....but logically it does make some sense..so perhaps i need to eat like "babiks" hahahah already become "kerabau Pindiks" and still ask to eat a lot more to become small...hmn....interesting indeed :P

Could I Be Eating Too Little?

Q

Is it true that if you consume too few calories, your metabolism will be lowered? And if your metabolism is lowered, what kinds of problems might that cause? --G.R.

A

Your metabolism is in effect your body's furnace. Calories are the fuel that heats this furnace; the hotter your furnace burns, the more calories it uses up just to keep up with basic functions like digestion, breathing and so on. Your activity level and the food you eat affect your metabolism. The more activity and exercise you do, the faster your metabolism runs, even when you aren't being active. Activity also builds muscle, and muscle burns more calories than fat. In other words, the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism. If you don't put enough food in your body, your "furnace" doesn't have anything to keep it going. It goes into a sort of hibernation mode by slowing down and using fewer calories. So, yes: If you eat too little, you can slow your metabolism.

Walk It Off

Just something that i have an interest on for i have been trying to maintain my ideal weight for god know since when BUT anyhow little, little step hopefully will bring little little big changes :) I HOPE!! but anyhow its just for the sake of keeping fit and so i got this article by Liz Neporent, MA on this particular subject so read on... ;)

4 Steps to Perfect Walking Form

Maintaining good form while you walk will help you burn more calories with each step and avoid injury. Keep these guidelines in mind during every walking workout.

  1. Head, shoulders and chest: Keep your head up and centered between your shoulders. Focus your eyes straight ahead. Keep your shoulders back and down. Your chest should be naturally lifted, as if there were a string attached to the center that gently pulls it upwards.
  2. Arms and hands: Your arms should be bent at 90 degrees. Swing them back and forth -- not side to side -- and keep them close to your body. Keep your hands loosely cupped as if you are holding a butterfly that you don’t want to escape but you don’t want to crush either.
  3. Abdominals: Pull your belly button gently in toward your spine and tuck your pelvis forward ever so slightly so you feel tall, stable and upright.
  4. Hips, thighs and feet: Power your movements from your hips rather than your thighs, but keep your hips loose and natural. Take short, fast strides that still feel natural rather than awkward. Land firmly on your heels and roll smoothly to push off with your toes. Think of planting your heel and then "pushing the ground away from you" as you roll through your foot.
  5. Breathing and heart rate: Your breathing will be loud, but concentrate on keeping it even and steady. Your heart will be thumping, but focus on keeping the beats steady and regular.

A note to treadmill users: Use the handrails as little as possible unless balance is an issue for you. Avoid "water skiing" -- that is, putting the treadmill on an incline, gripping the rails for dear life and using your arms to soak up the bulk of your effort. (This goes for walkers and runners!)
